This poem was written November 1, 2005 by my Grandma-a breast cancer survivor

Chemo
-----------------------------
Chemo kills the body
But not the soul
It makes you look
A hundred years old

You can't eat, drink, or sleep
No matter what you do
You have to over medicate
Just to make it through

You have no hair
And your skin is like leather
Nothing around you matters
Not even the weather

You're so weak
You have to stay in bed
No more getting dressed
You prefer PJs instead

You have constant nausea
But the meds don't work they sent
And days pass so slowly
Yet, you wonder where they went

You get so tired
You'd like to quit
Because all you can do
Is lay around or sit

I did pray to the Lord
And He reached out His hand
I knew He was the only One
Who could make me stand

God was with me
Every step of the way
He helped me make it
And I thank Him ever day
"Chemo" was written by my Grandmother.

That's an incredible poem. I'll have to show it to my grandma, who is a lung cancer survivor. She had mesothioloma, and the doctor had to take part of her lung and he entire diaphragm. But this was 8 years ago in February. She had to go through chemo as well, and I think she'll be impressed by this poem and the story behind it as well.
