I know it's long, but I think the information is necessary. Please read this if you can and have the time.
Towards the end I said some things that I've been wanting to say on here.


AMERICA'S FORGOTTEN WARS: The Barbary Wars

"Patriotism is a love for one's country and a loyalty to that country. It is a willingness to serve and sacrifice for one's country."

A lot of people probably have never even heard of these wars, but it is really important that they do, in my opinion. I had never heard of them before. I watched a documentary about them (by a Christian man narrating and giving the facts about them), and it opened my eyes to something new.

The Barbary wars began when Muslim pirates attacked American merchant ships. The pirates would capture Christians as slaves and sell them, many of those men were never seen again.
...Muslims attacking Americans...sound familiar?
The terrorist Muslims have existed and have been fought by Americans even 200 years ago.

The Barbary Wars lasted 32 years (four President's time).
A proposal was offered. Americans could buy the American captains back by paying tribute money to the Muslim, Barbary pirates.
Captains were $6,000
Soldiers were $4,000
Others were $1500-2000
"In 1794, the US was sending $1 million to Algiers to release 115 of our captives which was 20% of our national budgeted income."

Their slogan in the 1800s was, "You will either fight well, or you will pay well."

President George Washington was leaning towards trying to still negotiate with them. America at this time might not have been able to handle a major war such as this one would be.
America had gained independence in 1776.


President Thomas Jefferson opposed doing treaties since paying them didn't seem to be making any kind of change or effect. Money was just being wasted. He knew money bribes would not make an effect on them-but WAR would.
When Jefferson came to office, he wanted to fight to PROTECT the NATION and the merchant ships.
Get this---The reason that Jefferson acquired a Koren, Qu'ran (sp?) was to better understand HIS ENEMY. -NOT TO GAIN WISDOM FROM IT!!-
hmm...and we're usually bombarded with a different reason....

Here's what he found out (and Jefferson figured this out by looking through the Koren):
"The Muslims believe that all nations that do not acknowledge their authority by Mohammed and Koren must be found and put down, and anyone who died in these battles against other nations would go to paradise."

Wow...
He discovered their reason for attacking (mentioned just above) and the reason wasn't being provoked by us. It was because of their beliefs.

This is a HOLY WAR.

It was Christians-a Christian nation-fighting against Muslims.
The war WAS NOT provoked by us.


"Part of our heritage is the fight of Christians nations against the Muslims. It is a holy war."


And still, we are trying to negotiate with them 32 years later. The War on Terror (9/11, the Twin Towers attack)....the Barbary wars (attack of our merchant ships/Christains being captured as slaves). Seeing a RELATION here!!!
They were our enemy then, and they still here. THEY HAVEN'T CHANGED.
They want to destroy us. That's what they believe they must do. We did nothing to provoke the Barbary Wars, nor did we do anything to provoke 9/11. They declared war and attack...now how will we respond?
Money certainly doesn't work....
Bribes do not work....
Doing nothing....DOES NOT WORK.....
WE MUST STAND UP AND PROTECT OUR NATION AND FIGHT FOR HER AND ALL THAT SHE STANDS FOR AND THE CHRISTIAN HERITAGE THAT WE HAVE BECAUSE OF OUR FOUNDING FATHERS.

And Guess what!!!

I beg to differ. John Randolph was the FIRST Muslim in Congress actually. He was sworn in by the Koren that Jefferson had gotten in order to understand his enemy.
BUT!!! THIS IS GREAT!!! Later on FRANCIS SCOTT KEY--the writer of the lyrics to our national anthem--LED HIM TO CHRIST!!!! He got saved!!! Arabic Bibles were printed for the Arabic people!

Battles in the Barbary Wars

President John Adams is called the "Father of the Modern Navy"
August 1, 1801-The US defeated the Muslim ship in Tripoly.
The US ships (USS Philadelphia) was later captured.
February 16, 1804-Lieutenant Stephen Decatur (an American soldier) and his crew were captured during a battle. He escaped led some of the first US Marines to the ship USS Philadelphia on Feb 16, 1804. They deceived the Tripolitan guards, and with the support from American ships, the Marines set the ship on fire so their enemy could no longer use it.
"This act made Lieutenant Stephan Decatur one of the first American military heroes since the Revolutionary War."

"The Battle of Derna was the turning point of the war."
(April-May 1805)
William Eaton and Presley O'Bannon led a force of eight United States Marines, 500 Greek, Arab, and Berber mercenaries and marched over 500 miles across the desert from Alexandria, Egypt and capture the Tripolitan city, Derna and to fight the Barbary pirates.

June 10, 1805-A treaty was brought up for the Muslim and Barbary pirates to abandoned piracy and slavery of the US citizens.
They lied. The lied on their part and did not abide by the treaty and they broke it when only 2 years later (1807) they started once again in the capturing of American ships and merchants and holding them hostage.
THE MUSLIMS BROKE THE TREATY.

Because of the distraction of being in the War of 1812, the Americans were not able to respond to this act until 1815, the Second Barbary War.
Because of the War of 1812, the US soldiers were not able to be in the Mediterranean Sea, where the Muslims had captured the merchant ships once again, so the situation of the Americans just encouraged the pirate nations.
Finally after the War of 1812 had ended, America could focus on this North Africa conflict.
March 3, 1815--US Congress deployed ships over seas to fight against Algiers.
Ten ships were under the command of Commodores Stephen Decatur, Jr. and William Bainbridge.
July 3, 1815---A treaty was signed on the ship Guerriere in the Bay of Algiers. This treaty guaranteed to no further tributes and granted the US full shipping rights. So Decatur set off to negotiate this treaty with the Dey of Tunis and to enforce prior agreements with Pasha of Tripoli and also to sign the treaty with the Muslims. The Dey refused the treaty...and changed their minds.

"For the next year, Anglo-Dutch fleet under British Admiral Edward Pellew, unleashed a nine-hour bombardment of Algiers."
Immobilizing many of the Dey's corsairs, he was forced and PERSUADED by his men to agree to a second treaty "which reaffirmed conditions imposed by Decatur."

Did you know the line in the Marine's Hymn "...the shores of Tripoli" refers to the Barabary Wars?

CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS WAR
The Muslims finally said they would stop capturing the US Christians.
The Muslims were our ENEMIES in the 1800s and they have always been our ENEMIES still.
The United States was able to defeat the Muslims before, but the goal of the Muslims and their want is to destroy and conquer America. They have NOT changed.
But America will first be destroyed from the inside out-just like it is with sin and how Satan is. He creeps into your life and destroys from the inside first and out.

All the things going on in America are things that the nation was doing before they were destroyed. Think about Sodom and Gomora. Homosexuality big time there, and those cities were destroyed.
We are at the doorsteps to SOCIALISM. Obama says that this healthcare is to care for you as an individual? That's a LIE. You are identified as a group. (your age, race, etc. ...not as you yourself).
What comes after socialism??? COMMUNISM.

All the prophesies in THE BIBLE are happening as we speak.
And I have nothing against taking care of earth, well God does that (He DID create it and all), but do you not realize that everything will just get WORSE AND WORSE.
It's the Second Law of Thermodynamics people, entropy, and the fact that over time things slow down...they deteriorate....they wax old like a garment (as the Bible describes it)...well, that just DISPROVED evolution right there.

AMERICA was NOT FOUNDED on the sin and SIN oriented philosophies that are being proclaimed in her today.
THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA HAS A CHRISTIAN HERITAGE. AND WE MUST PROTECT THAT. They can't take that fact-THAT TRUTH-away.

What would our Founding Fahters think if they were alive today?


It's scary I know. But what can we do in these times? What are we supposed to do when it seems that the wicked are prevailing? ......We Christians what do we do?
