"Every form of government derives its authority from God." (Romans 13:1-7)
"God gave human government for the purpose of protecting life and property."
"Our government has gone beyond its God-given function of protection to add another dimension-not God-given--the dimension of provision. Many governmental leaders believe they must provide for men as well as protect them, but such a philosophy is not what God intended."


America is at the doorsteps of socialism. What comes after socialism? .....communism.
The healthcare plan Obama is trying to pass....means socialism. Things will only get worse.
Why did he get the Nobel Prize? Is it for what people HOPE he will do, but he hasn't done anything.

"Dictatorships, particularly totalitarian regimes, often maintain control over the people through socialism. SOCIALISM IS NOT A FORM OF GOVERNMENT, but a system of government control over the economy of a nation."

ECONOMIC SYSTEM- "As an economic system, socialism's key tenet is that government, NOT individuals, should own or control a nation's resources (soil, minerals, timber, etc.) and its means of production (farms, factories, etc.).
POLITICAL MOVEMENT- "As a political movement, socialism seeks political change through legislation and government regulation."
SOCIAL THEORY- "As a social theory, socialism maintains that the individual is unimportant when compared to the welfare of the group."
RELIGIOUS FAITH- "As a religious faith, socialism insists that man is basically good but has been corrupted by society and that man's goodness will express itself if he is given the right environment."


BEGINNINGS OF SOCIALISM:
"Socialism often begins with such high-sounding phrases as "from each according to his ability; to each according to his need" or with seemingly benevolent ideas centered on bringing about equality beyond the scope of equal justice under law."


But SOCIALISM IS DECEPTIVE.


"In order to achieve this artificial 'equality' in an unequal world, socialists work for government control of all of a nation's natural resources and means of production, often through increasingly harsh legislation, regulation, and taxation. In practice, it penalizes the productive, subsidizes the unproductive, and denies the fact that people have differing talents, intellects, backgrounds, interests, and moral values.
Socialists insist that government must stringently regulate and control all of a nation's institutions----home, church, and school---and all of its economic, cultural, political, and social activities."
"Charles B. Shuman explains why many people are open to an acceptance of a socialist government:
'The appeal of socialism is to human weakness---the desire to avoid responsibility and the craving for material gain. It offers security as a substitute for opportunity, and the price is freedom.'

"All governments are ordained of God, but none can compare to government by God, theoracy."

There are two foundations for law: revealed law and natural law.
Revealed law is law "given by God explicitly in the Holy Scripture."
Natural law is "discernible by all men as image-bearers of God by virtue of the 'work of the law written in their hearts' (Romans 2:15). Natural law, the law which 'nature has taught all living beings,' may be summed up as living honestly, harming no one, and giving to each his own.' "

"However, the rules of conduct under natural law are not sufficient for fallen mankind because man's reason and conscience are often blinded, distorted, and perverted by sin. Sir William Blackstone [an English jurist who wrote Commentaries on the Laws of England], therefore, recognized that God's revealed law in the Bible is essential to inform mankind about what it means 'to live honestly, to harm no one, and to give to each his own.' Thus the best laws for governing society are those established on the precepts and principles found in the Bible. It was this truth that guided America's Founding Fathers.' "



What if America turns into a Communist nation? What are we supposed to do?
"The Bible gives two specific commandments to Christians of all nations and times concerning their response to civil government:
1.) TO PRAY FOR THOSE IN AUTHORITY
1 Timothy 2:1-2, "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."
2.) TO RESPECT AND SUBMIT TO THEIR AUTHORITY
Romans 13:1-7,
"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour."

WE AS CHRISTIANS HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO:
1.) Pray daily for our public officials
2.) Be informed of the issues and about the candidates so that we may vote intelligently in each election
3.) Write to our elected representatives in order to influence the legislative process."




Civil government, whether it be good or bad, represents God's authority in our lives. If the laws of civil government demand that the believer oppose God's commands, as they did when Daniel's friends were commanded to bow down to Nebuchadnezzar's golden image (Daniel 3), or when the law stated that no one could pray for 30 days (Daniel 6), then we must respectfully stand for God and take the persecution that will result (Matthew 5:11-12; 1 Peter 3:13-15).
We honor the Lord by standing for Him in a respectful, proper manner."

"Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." -Matthew 5:10, 12

Nothing is therefore more vital to the health of our nation than the consistent testimony of its Christian citizens by word and by deed."


We've always needed God and always will. We MUST continue to seek Him and pray. He hears us and when we draw nigh unto Him He draws nigh unto us. He loves us and He deserves our love. "We love Him because He first loved us." (1 John 4:19)
Hebrews 7:19, "For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God."
James 4:8, "Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you..."


GOD LOVES YOU. HE SEES EACH TEAR THAT FALLS. HE HEARS US WHEN WE CALL. HE CARES FOR-YOU. HE DIED FOR YOU AND HE ROSE AGAIN-THE HOLY SACRIFICE HE CHOSE TO MAKE WAS ALL FOR YOU.
HE LOVES US WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE.
